Encouraging Aspiring Hispanic Lawyers
Since its inception in 1993, the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association (CHBA) has strived to increase the number of Hispanic lawyers practicing in Connecticut by mentoring, educating, and otherwise supporting law students committed to the same goal. The CHBA’s law student initiatives seek to encourage professional excellence and a strong sense of community service among area law students.
In order to support the charitable and educational objectives of the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association, the CHBA has created a perpetual charitable fund known as the “Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association Fund.” The CHBA welcomes your contributions to the CHBA Fund to further these goals.
A Charitable Cause
The CHBA Fund was established with the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving (“HFPG”), one of the largest and most respected community foundations in the country. Grants from the CHBA Fund will be awarded to worthy recipients for scholarships as well as to organizations and activities that support the Hispanic and the legal community. Contributions made to the CHBA Fund, whether of cash or any other assets, are tax deductible, to the extent permitted by law. HFPG is classified as a public charity under Section 170 (b)(1)(A) of the Internal Revenue Code.
